I'm right next to that cell near Peterborough,  might go for a warm up chase!

Good grief! That shotgun thunder it produced 5 mins ago!!! Out of nowhere this little beaut has erupted. I love it!

Do you guys think it is worth staying up to wait for the storm or hope that a loud thunder wakes you up in time??

That’s my problem too! I don’t want to go to sleep because I may not wake up for the best of the storms so I don’t know whether to set an alarm or something for 3am or something I’m lost for what to do, I hope those storms arrive earlier but then again when they arrive I want them to stick around for a good few hours which they should

Cells popping off all over the place over northern France now, great signs!

Indeed! Very much liking the current N-S alignment they seem to be taking too.

Thats the one I'm watching. Weird little fella was two separate cells which converged and I never seen two cells from opposite directions merge into one before.

I think it is backbuilding going by the radar loop and @Arnie Pie's photo which shows turrets behind the main cell.

Hi everyone, not expecting any fireworks here in my part of Wiltshire but good luck to those of you further east.  Let's hope tonight lives up to the hype.  Can't believe how many excited thunder and lightening enthusiasts are on this forum right now!

sferic's really getting going in N France now, so hope you enjoy what you get later

In terms of the hatch, well nothing short of a flight would get me there, now

Very soupy indeed. Almost like an oklahoma type day!

Fasten your seatbelts lads. It’s gonna be a long night!

Sums it up really, innocuous clouds pass overhead, ten mile up the road it has become a full blown thunderstorm....

Well this has just appeared in the sky - won’t win any photography awards but it pleases me greatly

Been feeling very close all day today, great signals. Also I’m noticing little flies and bugs flying around that I don’t normally see, on my windows a few are crawling around. I’m pretty certain the last time that happened was before last year’s big storms in may over London! This is getting me hyped now

Dunno about back building I think it's looking for another mate after joining forces earlier.

Interesting strike there near Orleans... could be good for East Kent  and another just west of Paris.

Just hope any storms reach us lol, we apparently have heavy rain around 3 but whether there's enough for lightning who knows, might be dark enough for distant lightning like in 2015 early July
