Unfortunately the storms in the North haven't much instability available to them causing cloud tops to be quite low. Also cloud tops are relatively warm also reducing the risk of lightning.

We have lightning also I reckon Yorkshire stands a better chance ancr than Lincolnshire atm

Edit: was only the one flash that didn't get picked up on the radar

Hopefully the weather this week will provide medicine for the storm fans’ areas that are infected by a serious illness - the No Storm disease!

Well I'm calling it a night I'm shattered but hopeful for something. Plenty scope for things to change. I'll keep the window open just in case

18z WRF shows a lot of MUCAPE building by 5 am so I think I’m going to stay up and see what happens.

Hard man but i think that's it for tonight, nothing showing up on radar only that poxy cell in the channel, but i know how things can quickly develop so i am with you on this for a bit.

cloud tops are getting a bit higher but we need to see some reds in there.
