Experience tells me that the Caen cell will peter out over the channel while the Suffolk cell will grow to produce a hossing gurt MCS out in North Sea

Live web cam closer to the Caen action: https://www.vision-environnement.com/webcam/portfolio/webcam-cabourg-promenade-marcel-proust/ .  But weird, no lightning at ground. Cloud to cloud?

At least, no plague of flies for them!

Hallo! I think we might be in for a chance, especially as they wont be dependant on surface heating.. But they might do the usual and go either side of us... Will have to wait and see! Fingers crossed"!

That Caen cell is developing into a hook with more cells firing up to the west of it.

This beauty formed in under 40 minutes! Very rapid convection over the channel then!

The live webcam from leHavre shows some good cloud structures but perhaps too far from the storms for lightning. There also seems to be a biblical plague of flies in the area: https://www.lehavretourisme.com/en/live-webcam

Yep! Les mouches. We have buckets of flies, midges and other flying bods I'd rather not go in to. It's just been the season for the "may bugs", stuffing themselves down every plug hole available. I kill nothing if I don't have to so having them gripping on to my fingers for dear life is run of the mill. With heat goes copulation (in the insect world, I mean, but feel free to expand) I'm afraid...

Not electrified however, which highlights the danger of relying solely precipitation modelling or moisture.

Game over for Dorset in a line to Peterborough westwards. Had a bad feeling they would only fire up to the east of the IOW.

Good luck East Anglia and Kent, it’s probably going to be a noisy night!

Yes but it could quickly become electrical jusdging by how quickly the precipitation has intensified. Still a few hours to go before they are due to hit

Been an awful year for central areas regarding anything remotely thundery and I fear we are too far west to see anything tonight.

Been pretty rubbish in the east as well tbh.
