We shall see! Happy to be proved wrong. I think the far SE is looking good and I think the storm over Caen will head that way.

Whether it will be more widespread then that is difficult today. Maybe more storms tomorrow though.

Just shows how quick things can develop. There was nothing on the radar near there 15 minutes ago.

An area of interest to me to watch now onwards is over Brest to the Channel Islands....I think elevated storms will fire in that area over the next few hours....There are subtle hints on radar showing a sharp increase in localised ppn near the channel islands currently

Only a bust if i wake up tomorrow and no one has had any thunder.

I have seen clear radars blow up in minutes.

patience grasshopper.

Same. Look at the radar over my area now. That intensifying band of rain came out of next to nothing. I know cos am in it and watched it develop. Interesting thing is I noticed just before the rain that the clouds were moving SW straight into the incoming  wind. And hello,we are convection a go go here.  Just rain, but elsewhere could get some juicier action

I'm pretty sure end of May 2 years ago there was an unexpected storm which wasn't in the forecast that took people by surprise and suddenly blew up over parts of the South and Wales where there was 500 strikes a minute according to Real Time Lightning

Yes indeed, it was a crazy night!

The Caen cells look like Kent clippers at the mo, but steering flow, I believe will back to a more SSW-NNE flow as the night progresses as opposed to the current WSW-ENE flow

The 12Z UKV has the precip between me and IoW spot on, and shows the storms over Normandy. However, later on, it doesn't look too good if you're West of the IoW up to the Wash.

evening all, after a manic few days in France for the Le Mans 24hr motor race, its nice to be back and be in with a chance of some overnight storms, not sure if the rain we have had over the last few hours has scuppered any chance for here but it sure feels muggy.

I noticed some rising accas over that way a short while ago from the garden.
