Belts on till leaving the South East I reckon.  Like crew strapped in for the majority of the departure up and until the cruise.

You’ll be lucky... looks similar to what we had and it all amounted to a shower

In SE London we have cloudier skies, but the weather warning isn't even half way through, plenty of opportunity.

Watch the radar animation and that rotation. Going to be an interesting couple of hours, especially before sunset

Band of showers seemed to be moving in at a fair pace and now seems to have stalled slightly shy to my SW. We are sitting under a filthy, angry looking black cloud, but absolutely nothing is happening. It's just very dark and still and the skies look apocalyptic. It's almost like the sky is waiting for something.

The Sun`s just breaking through here in Birmingham so the cells coming across from Oxfordshire should come into play in the next few hours.......Plenty of convection already apparent

Wish I shared in your optimism, but to be fair all the forecasts erred very much on the side of ‘small risk’ when it came to lightning. Possible cold-pooling in the south-east as the sun goes down (so I’ve read) but this will be pulse convection I imagine so nothing organised to be expected.

Would definately be nice but I’m not venturing out again unless something happens nearby.

Timing today has been awful too - right when everyone leaves work - causing a nightmare at our local traffic lights. Doesn’t help nobody knows how to drive their 4x4s in wet weather either ??‍♂️?‍♀️

Just to the west of Kingsbridge. Skies look apocalyptic, but nothing really happening as yet.

Some parts of Devon appear to have had an absolute drenching though, Netweather radar colours were comfortably in purple territory

So far disappointing here. We're just getting the drizzly edges of the cells passing to the west.

Same. I'm on the edge of huge showers, but they're missing me because of rotation. Did have a rumble of thunder, though

Brightening up nicely here with the sun finally making an appearance after today’s main band moved to the north.

Hopefully this will provide some sufficient surface heating before the heavy showers move up here from the south. I’m just hoping they don’t fizzle out or loose intensity.

Some great looking cells over S. Devon. Possible that the higher elevation here, along with local convergence is helping promote convection to push through the weak cap that is present over most of the area.

Heavy rain here in the environs of Sidcup on a muggy, humid train.

Gone a bit darker but doesn’t seem particularly convective.

Wind direction change shows up nicely on my graph, as it all begins to rotate.
