A little anvil over Brum - some great cloudscapes and it's just started to rain. Hopeing we get something as we missed out on the thunder and lightning yesterday. Just had the torrential rain and strong winds, which stripped the blossom from the trees.

Rumbles of thunder in Shrewsbury for the second day in a row. Small cell to north and large one to south west.

I’m down wind of you today so let’s hope we get lucky.

Hiya @Chris.R

By the looks of things, it’s just starting to get electrified. ?️

This is my current view to my south... Let’s hope it can make it over the Clwydian Range.

I snapped this cloudscape yesterday ahead of heavy clouds arriving across the NY Moors. No electrical activity though.

A few booms heard to the West. First of the season! Get in. Stamford getting the full hit, and then on into the usual Lincolnshire storm dumping ground.

The WRF 6Z now shows the steering winds to be more SSE so perhaps I need to be looking more in the Chester/Shrewsbury direction.

That just arrived up here. I watched outside until the rain came. Saw a couple of CC.

Feeling lucky here! Saw a few cg's at a distance yesterday in Derbyshire (@supacell probably same ones as you, I was up Middleton top on the high peak trail looking Ashbourne way) and today working in Sutton in Ashfield got a direct hit from a pokey little storm! Few cg's (couple close ones) and plenty of ic. No hail tho. Not much in the way of pics but these of its backside

Another potent looking shower just east of Nottingham, the second one that's rolled thorough that area today

Yep. Between 5 and 10 claps of thunder, some quite close, and a brief but heavy hail shower. Had several showers the last couple of days but not much rain as my water butt which I had half emptied topping up the pond has only just filled up. Since it receives water from half the roof plus the garage it shows how brief the showers have been.
