Heard one distant rumble of Thunder going dark now but once this lot has gone through that will be it.

Yep, plenty of lightning in every direction other than here, loads of strikes over Ashbourne at the moment

These aren’t the best storms - fairly infrequent over a wide area

but when you do get one nearby man are they bright and loud

Thundery showers to be honest.

Good little storm that. Torrential rain, frequent thunder and lightning as the core passed over- including a strike that must have been a matter of metres away!

I'm happy!

Hear anything yet @Supacell?

I saw a couple of distant CG's to the west and heard a few rumbles but it was a miss for Belper. Moving too quick to chase.

Is it going to have another go here and produce a proper storm. Probably not but a new cell building to the south east of me.

Well that was a fun 15 minutes with a few close-strikes and definitely more I.C. and C.G. strikes than what the detectors were showing, hopefully more of the same for tomorrow.

A nice dark cloud went over me earlier with slight rotation to it and has produced sferics north of here

another cell kicking off NE of here now with constant rumbling

there is more cells developing to the south and east of here though.

Fair play that’s is one hell of a squall line that’s just past through!! I’m soaked!! ?️☔:vava:

Although sadly the main electrical activity appears to be passing by to my east. ⛈️

Failed to have a second go pretty poor show over all here but at least it managed a close rumble which rare these days.

Did get out for a chase, albeit 30 minutes of driving. Left Macclesfield for the hills and got caught in a heavy shower up on the Cat and Fiddle, then drove South East towards Leek and got caught in the most torrential rain I think I have ever driven with. It made traffic crawl and gutters became 6 foot wide. Seen about 5 or 6 pink bolts of lightning, one of which was a C-G and blew the electrics in Macclesfield (traffic lights and house alarms all popped off for a minute or so). Really good, more please!
