@Paul I'm not 100% is this is a change or not - but - if I have the PWA open on my phone, it now asks me to login and I am logged out on the Laptop. Is this behaviour new?

Surely we can be allowed to be logged in to a few devices?

It should be fine, I have it open in a few places here. Are your phone and laptop on the same network?

Yes, both on WiFi - both sitting in the same room. I don't recall it doing it before today.

Now that I have mentioned it - and completed the login dance 4 times, on both devices - apparently the problem has mysteriously gone away.

Very strange. One thing to check is the data saver on your mobile, as that can connect through a different ip when it's switched on.

Regardless though, please let me know if it logs you out again

Interesting day to test out the predictive radar on V8...atm it seems to be overcooking its prediction

how does this work...is it calculated from forecast models....if so which models?

...streaming now

It's purely radar based, so the system is looking at each pixel, seeing where it's moving and what the intensity is doing and then plotting it into the future. It's not 100%, as no predictive radar can be, but in many circumstances it's been doing a good job from what we've seen

Yeah, think the radar network is picking up some false echoes - that's not in our control though unfortunately.

When is next version of the radar due Paul

I am honestly happy with the V8 at the moment, more wanting some new stuff come on UKV as its been about a year and a bit since there has been any major changes away from a couple of charts added earlier in the Winter.

We're frequently adding updates to the radar @Mark Clifford, is there something in particular you're waiting on or hoping to see?

I think he is referring to the UKV charts more than anything else and i mean, he isn't wrong about how long its been.

Out of interest... what were the latest updates to the radar and when were they made? I haven't had a subscription since my last comment here.

The biggest thing is the weather notifications on there now - so you can be alerted for rain, snow, lightning etc (Added in Feb). We've also updated the future radar to include precip type info within the notifications and display on the virtual weather station/postcode markers.

We've added averages to the virtual stations now also. Plus a number of other minor changes / bug fixes etc.

(Notifications aren't available on iOS yet btw, as they're not supported in pwa's at the moment)

Notifications just don't work right for me. I may get one notification out of the blue, but most of the time I get none.

Weird, not had any other issues reported and definitely working fine this end. Will look at your account specifically to see if there are any clues as to why they may not be sending to you.

Still no notifications, both on my phone and desktop. There's been showers today, and that rain we had on  Sunday.

i'll check the logs shortly. Meantime, please double check your browser permissions for the site and the notification settings on the radar itself (bell icon), as no one else is mentioning issues with receiving notifications, which is odd.

There's nothing in the logs to see it's sent to you, and I can see you're registered to receive rain alerts ok. So we're going to have to dig into it a bit more to see what's going on.

Permissions are all good.

I mean, I have had the odd notification before, but 99% of the time, nothing.

I have never had a desktop notification for rain though.
