Thought I'd share this - really shows the orographic rainfall from overnight well as most of the rain fell on western facing hills.

A cloudy night with rain arriving yesterday evening and lasting for the rest of the night. The rain cleared to sunshine and brief showers around 0800, accompanied by a W gale.

Apart from  few cloud breaks last evening, a mosty cloudy night. Moderate rain through the early hours. This morning, gale force westerly gusts and heavy showery rain. A clearance arriving just before the observation, sunny spells, still very windy.

 

 

Maximum temperature to 18:00 GMT yesterday 9.8c.

Minimum temperature overnight 5.9c

Another mainly cloudy night, some light rain through the early hours. Overcast, further showery light to moderate rain this morning. Further showery rain at times, overcast for the most part, very windy with gusts past gale force.

A very windy spell first part of the morning with some heavy rain which gave to showers through the morning as the winds moderated.

Max temp 10.2C now 7.9C, Barometer1004mb rising, Wind F3 W Max gust 58mph. Rainfall 15.4mm from midnight.
