Snow cover partially melted overnight windy still with some wintry showers

A cold and windy night with clear spells and snow showers, the snow drifting in exposed areas. The snow showers died  out around 0730 and it's now dry and sunny.

Cloudy overnight, moderate rain through the early hours, this turning to sleet and wet snow towards dawn, producing a slight accumulation. At observation, overcast, light sleet, slight snow cover of 1cm, 60%. Melting. Further light sleet for a time through the morning. The afternoon saw brighter conditions, though with showers wintry showers around of soft hail.  Windy, feeling cold.

Snow showers died out by 0730 and the rest of the day was dry, with sunny periods up to mid afternoon then increasing high cloud.
