A dry and clear night with a ground frost. Fog and an air frost in the valleys.  Sunny and very mild so far this morning but the fog persists in the valleys.

Another clear night, colder than recently with a widespread sharp frost. Mist and shallow fog patches forming over near by fields. Sunny so far this morning, frost melting.

 

Maximum temperature to 18:00 GMT yesterday 14.1c.

Minimum temperature overnight -2.4c

24-hour maximum 14.1c

24-hour minimum -2.4c

Minimum temperature on grass -4.9c.

Maximum wind gust: (Midnight to Midnight) 7.3 mph WNW

Rainfall total: 0.1mm

 

Conditions at 09:00 GMT

 

2 Oktas  Altocumulus.

Visibility 3 miles.

Temperature: 1.3c

Humidity: 94.3%

Dew point 0.5c

Wind Direction: SW Force 1

Barometer 1033.7mb Trend steady.

 

Yesterday.

 

Clear overnight, again thick fog rolling in just before dawn, visibility  <50 yards. No change at observation. The fog slowly cleared for a short time around 10:30 allowing some brief sunshine. Fog and low cloud returned again late morning. Around noon the low cloud and fog eventually cleared leaving an afternoon of unbroken sunshine, turning very mild again.

Yet another late April/early May Max here even with 50 M fog to start the day, max=18.4 C and cloudless after the fog cleared

According to the Davies a 14 degree range of temperatures today from 2.6C to 16.6C. Reading looks even more impressive.

A large diurnal range of 17.2C here today with an air frost and min of -0.4C, rising to a max of 16.8C in the afternoon. We were just 0.1C short of the record set in 1998. Another day of maximum sunshine aswell with 10.3hrs. We are now up to a total of 115hrs this month, just 9hrs short of the record set in 2008.
