Have a feeling March will be below average, with some cold, snowy, weather towards the end, though with a mixture of chilly and mild spells at the start.

CET guess: 4.7*C

Rain/snowfall: 79mm

March is always a difficult month to predict, not quite as much as April, but nearly. It can flip in a short space for time from notable mild to notable cold. Also the atlantic tends to be at its coldest now, and northerlies as well.

The first half of the month looks average at best, below average a bit in the north. Not sure how things might pan out later on, chance of something much warmer but possibly also much colder..

I'll play safe and go with 7.2 degrees, chance of a colder than normal month highest for Scotland, could be quite wintry at times in the northern half of the UK, less so in the south. Predominantly much more unsettled - there is much cold air over the pole and an active PV, a strong more southerly positioned jetstream, some northerly interludes at times. A very different month synoptic wise to February. There is a reasonable chance though it will end up colder than average.
