High cloud with some bright gaps. Currently -0.9C after a low of -4.3C. Just enough snow  - maybe 1cm  - fell sometime after 1am to make it look pretty. There looks to be a 5+ northeasterly so expect it will feel cold unless the sun makes an appearance.

Overnight snow left about 25mm on the ground here and slightly more on nearby fields. Overcast and very cold with light wintry precipitation at times, mainly sleet, giving a slight thaw during the day. I really don't understand the Met Office's amber warning centred on Reading - they were still showing it on BBC weather this morning long after the main snow band had gone and the radar showed snow heading NW away from us and no sign of anything heading our way at all this morning.  Maximum 1.7, minimum 0.2. Wind light NNE.
