Looks like storms could die out for north/west yorkshire according to a few models. South/east yorkshire could see some. Linconshire obviously best situated

Well this burst of rain will bringing a few flash floods. Road briefly a river.

From one end of the August spectrum to the other-and people wonder why August gets a bad name-Today would be a prime example as to why it does.

Doesn't look like the Lightning will survive the journey. However it looks like we are going to get some impressive rain totals for what has been a dry month so far here.

In-between belts of heavy rain. The next looks heavier longer lasting than the first but this can change rapidly.

Huge bolts of lightning and thunder out of nowhere torrential rain.

Think storm starved north/west yorkshire might get something later today. Fingers crossed.

Sunny Sheffield seem to be in hole of death with any showers dying away as they get close while others slip by to the east and west.

Very disappointing today. Forecast was for widespread storms and torrential downpours.

Just rained here in the sunshine so may have brewed something for northern Sheffield

Can see a shower to the north but it remains dry and warm here. We've done very well to miss the really big stuff today but seems like showers are popping up very quickly almost anywhere now.

Perfect for us here as the storms that died on their travels from Stoke found a new lease of life as the ascended over our Hills finally sparking off over the moor behind and back building into 'Fax way (& onto Bradford?)

Been a grim afternoon, looks like we've got some gales to contend with too from tonight up to the weekend.

We were at our caravan on the N Yorkshire coast and my wife said it poured down overnight. Unusually I slept through this but was conscious of what sounded like a boom of thunder or it might have been the wind. Sorry we had to come home to the NW during the day as it was pleasantly warm and sunny when we left.

Well myself and a friend put a stronger higher pole in the garden for the Anemometer. Wind nicely obliged by dying down while we did this and setting the guy rope tension and getting it straight. The test will be the next storm which looks to be Tuesday although local met forecast is having none of it.
