The Northern end of that band will not push much further Eastwards now but the Southern end will continue to swing up from the SW in a North Easterly direction meaning that the band will eventually be

Well today was a great day really after the snow disappointment. It's been very cold, only maxed out at -1.7 on my station so a good ice day. The trees looked brilliant with thick frost on them.

Had a light shower of graupel here so far - seems to be the best we can manage these days. Got the faintest of coverings out of it though ?

I stand corrected. Proper heavy snow shower just now. Time for bed (maybe)!

Hmm I seem to be missing the band of showers just to the north, I feel I need to see something today or run the real risk of a snow less winter! Apparently it snowed on the 18th while I was away on holiday but that's been it so far this winter! It does look promising for many of us to see something through the day today so fingers crossed ?

Done well last coupl hrs here. A few cm.

That streamer pushing north but some more in a couple of hrs looking east....

Yeah Im hoping the big ones maintain intensity and head a little further south. With the wind changing to more of a northerly direction this is possible.

Looks like another shower streamer setting up further South now.  Might be South Yorkshire that benefits more than West mind?

As you say though winds are due to swing round more to the N later so hopefully many inland areas will get a shot at a covering.  Meto wording certainly looks promising for inland areas for the next 24 hours or so....

Hmm further south of yorkshire the showers seem to be dying out as they hit inland, hopefully this changes for you soon.

Not that bothered today actually as I'm working in Leeds!  ?

I am actually hoping though that once the front to our South pulls away so will the cloud shield allowing the showers in the North Sea to beef up a bit a push inland.  We just don't want the wind to change too straight Northerly when that happens though as that will ruin inland parts of S and W Yorks chances.

We will have to see how the day pans out.....
