Only a few miles down the road from @vizzy2004 but here there’s a patchy covering that’s struggling to cling on and we have sleet in all but the heaviest bursts of activity.

Lots of dripping noises off the roof too.

Was great to watch in the early hours when the heavy stuff was falling and sticking.

Yes we did get lucky here, another warning for our area tonight.

2-4cm above 100m so may get a few cms if lucky despite being lower than 100m.

chance of snow coming back in Sheffield around 4pm according to METO and BBC weather, earlier forecasts were looking at 4pm to 7pm so disappointing that its downgraded again.  It isnt hanging around long when it does snow but does look pretty for that brief period.  Any further (hopeful) models out there we can turn to?

The shower activity is simply not coherent or numerous enough. If we are lucky we get a dusting after dark once the temperature drops again.

Are the showers expected to get heavy tonight?

From what lunchtime look north showed they could be heavy at times throughout albeit retreating towards the coast as the night went on, very much `some places would see none, others a good covering` etc

What was interesting was the (a bit rushed) graphics at the end showing the warmer orange colours coming through on Tuesday not before with another band of snow on Monday!!

Well nice to see some Snow for once. Once again no lasting cover. There is another shower on the way though which mau be late enough to remain overnight but I doubt it.

Unless we sneak a rogue shower tomorrow that should be it as it turns milder. ECM seems to have given up on the FI easterly at the moment.

After the weird freezing rain shower before midnight every shower after that has been snow fortunately. We did manage a reasonable cover so it goes down as a snow day at 0900 though nothing you could measure. I'm only going by what my other half has said though as I was asleep after my night shift and missed it all. By the time I got up at 1pm it was almost completely gone and the temp was above 3C. We haven't had a shower since.

Got to laugh at some of scenes down south. I driven to all the way from Sheffield to Goyt valley in conditions similar to some been shown and no trouble. I didn't take the car down into Goyt parked at top and had a walk round. I did forget that the snow drifted across the A6 just after dual carriage way and ploughed through a drift.

2010 was a bigger challenge but once I cleared the Snow off the drive had no problems getting around. As one couple said walking up the road "You made short work of that hill"

Of course it doesn't matter if you don't have any problems if you can'y get past the stuck vehicles in front you ain't going any where.

Radar showing showers turning back to Snow (reds) from Sleet (greens)

Lets hope they really get going as temps have started dropping back down again and give us a bit of a covering for tomorrow morning at least

Some beefy showers heading SW across the region and particularly in Norh Yorks.

Sutton Bank looks interesting at the moment, and probably only passable with a 4wd..

Nah tracks clearly showing shouldn't be an issue as long not heavy on the brakes or gas.
