A layer of very wet snow here. The road between Pickering and Whitby is shut by the police this morning so it must be treacherous out there.

Temp has now dropped to 1.5c with -0.4c dew. Settling on cars now. Looks like we're just on the right side of marginal!

Heavy snow started just as I left home in Garforth. Was wet snow on M1 near the river Aire but proper snow once I reached the M62 with a covering all the way to work at Cleckheaton. Have outrun the heavy stuff so just flurries here atm but a dusting nevertheless.

Sleet at low elevation in Sheffield when I woke up but now transitioned to snow and starting to stick. Surface temps must be quite low.

could be in for another couple of hours

Should be 5cm for us in Barnsley at this rate! The timing of the band and the offshore wind has really helped us

Observing some Seriously heavy looking sleet on the radar, coming in from the Ocean, is that the centre of a LP in the region ?
In rain terms it's heavy.. but when that falls as snow.. it can look torrential
