Sounds like we may see some snow then come Monday ?️

There’s been a couple of snow events on high ground in the region so far this month but it would be nice to see some snow settling at lower elevations. Only a small dusting here on Xmas Eve and no sign of anything here on the models currently albeit a cold outlook.

Here is the latest NMM snow accumulation to 1am Monday morning which should be taken with a large pinch of salt, what is certain is that the Yorkshire Dales, Pennines and Peak District should see snow accumulation in the next 30 hours.

From experience though Scott these accumulation charts from NMM often over egg snow amounts. This model only goes out to 36 hours so Mondays possible snow event that could effect parts of Yorkshire won’t show until tomorrow morning.

This evenings 12z GFS is indicating low level snow fall for parts of Yorkshire on Monday. I find the GFS fairly decent for snowfall accumulation so this bodes well for those in the area of snowfall on the below chart. Let’s hope it doesn’t change on the 18z as it shows snowfall for here.

Always good when the trends start coming in your favour less than 48 hours out

Fingers crossed for us all.

Only at 75m here but due to move in the new year and wil be gaining an extra 30 metres!  Every little helps!

Joking aside I will be happy with just a dusting here.  Don't believe we have had any settling snow here since March 18!  ?

A weather station above Settle at 480m asl has just seen a gust of 73mph courtesy of Storm Bella. Could see 80 + there later this evening.

Trends contiue to push north any further north and well be right on the pivot!

Usually the trends go opposite way for Yorkshire but this is just too obvious now

Looking very good on latest output tonight could be looking at 5cm on lower ground and 10cm over higher parts of our region. Looks like I might have to buy that sledge after all. If it continues to move north we could be right underneath that pivot. Interesting 48hrs ahead that’s for sure.

I'll be a little nervous tomorrow morning after viewing the 00z and 06z precip models! Really encouraging upgrades tonight for our locations. I'll bank ICON's 18z as it is a b-e-a-youtee!

Shame it's not snowing tonight! Would have been a brilliant blizzard.

It's awful out there at the mo though....

Not keen on Euro4 or Arpege though.

I feel like the hi-res have things further west again hahaha

Yes you look to be very well placed!

Id say better placed than myself in South Yorkshire.

Its currently better the further north and west you are!

Thats 10-15cm of lieing snow
