Southerly wind at the moment means we are missing the interesting wind. Rain on the way though.

Sub zero here now for the first time this winter season. Seems colder than forecast.❄️

Today was warmer too than predicted and clear as a bell. No fog what so ever

Yup a surprise air frost. Didn't last long though as cloud some came back and frost free by morning. Now dull dark and rubbish. I hope the wasp enjoys it as just flicked out of the window.

Looks like plenty of nowcasting Friday into the weekend. Rain, sleet, snow or dry with sunny spells depending where the low pressure ends up. For widespread Snow we will need evapourtive cooling to be our friend by the looks of things.

Let's have a repeat of boxing Day 2014 please! That came down heavy once it turned from rain.

Hopefully we can see a few flakes!

It's also typically very windy here now.... Always happens without fail once I've put the outside decorations up lol

It was also a very narrow band of heavy precipitation as well either side of it and they got rain. 34.1mm fell that night.

Wow what a beautiful winter’s morning I woke up to this morning with a lovely ground frost and blue sky’s and with the last two years of disappointments finally this winter is coming with a lot potential it’s quite exciting.  Winter has only just got going and already we have marginal snow forecast for our region later this week, models are going for snow with elevation at the moment but not exclusively we need to keep a close eye on the exact track of the Low to give us a better idea.  Looking at the models going further into December it looks really promising for cold and snow lovers and it’s my feeling we could be in for a memorable winter a head dare I say .

Going to be difficult to predict the weather this weekend. Looks like a few rain to snow to rain events if the prec turns up. Anybody thinking of a huge dump will probably be in Scotland or high up in the Pennines.  Transient elsewhere by the look of things.

Worth posting a happy reminder that it's 10 years today since the start of the epic spell in December 2010.

Woke up to a winter wonderland. It's still the deepest snow I've seen in Sheffield.

Couldn't get into work for 3 days, lakes and ponds froze, was brilliant wasnt it ?️❄️
