Morning all,
Nice to see some folks' snow pics .
as I type, it is 2.5 ° C here and the heavy rain turning a bit to sleet.
Horrid conditions really.

Rapidly turned to rain at all levels it seems. Got about a cm but it looked nice and makes me want more! Some poor driving on display on my way to work; despite the motorway being completely clear people were going about 20mph! 20200224_070219.thumb.jpg.6d0b008f0885b613278d10d48611abdf.jpg

Really slippy conditions out there couldn't even walk at a normal pace.

We're back to rain but , looking at how it has halted all work on the flood alleviation works , I'm kinda glad we haven't had more of the stuff this year!!!

When the works are completed this summer I'll be less concerned about it snowing all winter!

We had over 6cm's of snow here. Problem is the rain that has come after it has been heavy at times.

Rain + Snow melt has meant more floods. Some of our neighbours are now flooded for the 4th time in 3 weeks.

What's Thursday and Saturday looking like?

If I don't see anything from those then it'll be a full meteorological winter without any lying snow at my house. That's shocking!

It'll be 3 out of the last 7 winters without any here and two of those had only dustings, so 5 out of 7 really. Totally abysmal.

It's terrible isn't it. Does lead me to think something has changed. I mean those in the South east without snow you can understand but here up in Yorkshire it's not normal. Last winter was rubbish too. Think only the beast from the east gave us a little bit for a day or two

Amazing how badly you do, do you blame the eastern location or latitude.

Only in 2014 have i never experienced lying snow.

..

Snowed here in LS12 too, turned to rain about 9am. Some small patches made it through before melting.

Next chance seems to be Fri/Sat.

Looks like a repeat performance for Friday with rain or sleet for us but further northward snow once more. Saturday a small chance of back edge snow but very small. For us the chances look to be tomorrow afternoon and early evening and then Saturday afternoon and evening. To be honest we've been lucky too see any white stuff considering how mild the month is.

No lying Snow here either and last winter it didn't lie long enough to be measurable..

One day of lying snow at work a couple of weeks back. That's it.

Very disappointing! I just hope the extremes even themselves out and we get a stonker of a winter soon.

OH told me just now that they had quite a bit of lying snow this morning and a few abandoned cars outside the house at 0700! Glad he got snow...

Only 2013/14 was snowless here in the Howardian Hills.

I thought maybe this winter would be the same but we managed a sloppy 2cm this morning lasted a few hours before it reached 11c this afternoon!

Can't seem to find this guide, would someone mind linking it or something like that?

Worth saying that height has mattered this winter. My parents have had an extra two lying snow events this winter compared to me.
