Snow shower just passing over Sheffield now. Luckily I'm visiting my parents after work so just got up to crosspool!

First flakes of the winter really!

Need showers tonight though, radar looks empty after this for the moment

Yeah it's a shame there's a big gap, thought with the cold uppers the Irish sea would be a machine for us.

As you say hopefully a trough or two overnight. Would be nice to wake up to a covering

If its any consolation guys the lunchtime Look North forecast `looked` like showers would really pep up and become heavier later on this evening onwards

Guess the atmosphere is just unstable.

Met Office is suggesting 10-3 overnight to be our time of interest as that lump over NI makes its way over.

I don't know if it's a technical fault but a convergence zone south of the isle of man that might pep up some convective activity?

No warm sector, the model just thinks 2C is too warm.

The wind is much stronger and intense compared to Sunday! Proper rattling the house!

Yes,there should be a warning out for wind

72 mph at Capel Curig N/Wales and 79 south of Ireland,it's certainly windier than yesterday here.

Convergence zone seems to have developed just north of Bradford and Leeds (orographic uplift?). Here on the south side the clouds just look angry.

If you want to snow chase i would head to the Dales now.

I'm visiting tomorrow I think if I can convince the Mother. Any nice food eating pubs in the South or East half of the Dales? I originally wanted to go back to the Highlands of Scotland this week instead but wasnt allowed until my stepdads taken mum there first typical as I'd have seen bucket loads of snow this week up there!
