Looking at the GFS it doesn't show an organised band of showers passing across the country tonight but at least it does show an area of precipitation over us cold uppers are in place. Checking the dew points, wet bulb and dam lines etc and they all show that it should snow. So we depending on that area of precipitation to turn up. Now for me that's the problem normally these little blobs are GFS saying there will be showers around. I'd prefer if it was an organised band.

Heavy snow here now, unexpectedly, starting to get a full covering. Question is when it warms up in a bit will it stay as snow or switch to sleet.

As others have reported we had some very nice snow earlier. Barely settled on the grass but the flakes were very large for a time. Nice to see after such a poor winter.

Sun is out now so you'd never know we'd had snow!

Didn't settle here and now any showers are off rain. GFS shows a lala land icy blast after a spring like few days.

Been out on the bike this morning that wind is bloody strong also a negative seeing lots of daffodils showing yellow is this due to having no cold weather? So early?

  • Chilly with an increasing risk of frost

Once Monday's band of rain fades, the next few days will be drier. However, it will feel cool, even cold, in the breeze or under gloomy skies, with an increasing risk of frost. Read the full update here

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming. Week Ahead: Cool but largely dry until later in the week, when low pressure returns

We keep a chilly northerly flow going through much of the coming week, especially noticeable in the east. Cloud and rain spreading south Monday, but after that, most places largely dry until later in the week, when it looks to turn more showery. Read the full update here
