Warnings out for tomorrow but next Tuesday catches my eye with some very heavy rain shown. Fresh flooding is certainly back on the cards if that comes off.

Radar shows a weak weather system so not a lot rain today unless it beefs itself up. At the present time no need for any warnings.

Well good news for South Yorkshire at least with the heavy rain taking a surprise vacation. Still a miserable dark day though with annoying light rain a times. GFS shows another pulse possible this afternoon which may or may not effect us. Tuesday night Wednesday still looks an issue though.

Warning eventually removed a few hours late so it will probably chuck it down tonight. More rain brewing up to the south east of us so more showers to come.

Anyone in the Beverley area under that blob of precipitation? What's it falling as? It hit my area about 45 minutes ago and the temp was only 0.4C but I wasn't there!

I'm guessing its rain as the Davis has recorded 0.6mm despite the temp.

I won't be rushing out this morning as the late rain has largely frozen on the ground.
Evil black ice !

Take care folks.

Sleety mix has been happening a lot today. Also signs could be Snow from Wednesday onwards, Saturday especially keeps being shown as potential - even the Met office website is showing Snow for us then, which is odd at that range. Just rechecked Met now showing rain for Saturday, but never seen them show snow before at that range unless we already buried in the stuff.

Yeah a lovely defined squall line right down the country on this evening's radar:

Yup a rare squall line to hit Sheffield normally it breaks up and reforms when it's passed.

Could well be the only chance for us to catch any of the white stuff this month and away from the higher peaks we will need some extra help like heavy rain cooling the air. So if I was living in Buxton I would looking forward with 100% confidence while here in Sheffield we are unlikely too see any lying but may see some falling and this will probably keep changing back and forth from rain to snow then as the system pull away and it turns lighter back to rain.Haven't looked in great detail as the uppers are marginal and by tomorrow we may not even have those shown depending on the final position of the low pressures and how much cold air they can tap into.
