Take it that was in the summer with thunderstorms in 1989.

Check your risk of flooding: get current flood warnings, river and sea levels, check the 5-day forecast or use flood risk maps

A few photos on my walk around Ecclesfield this evening. Several road closures and a lot of surface water flooding. Still more to come looking at the radar before it slips south later tonight.

Looks like the Don at Meadowhall will top its all time record, probably will be the only station to achieve this as others still have some way to go

is there an easy way to see which ones are near record levels without going into each graph individually?

Mates of mine in Rotherham tell me that there is significant flooding at parkgate shopping centre, I was only at the Nandos there last week visiting, will try and upload the footage.

There isn't unfortunately, and i've since edited that post as it was totally wrong! some other gauges in Sheffield have already broken records!

Flooding nowhere near as extensive here in Chesterfield as it was in 2007, but Sheffield taking a real battering!

EDIT: EA now confirmed this was an error, I did wonder... been a long day for them I suspect

One severe flood warning now -  River Calder at Brearley and Luddenden Foot. Seems slightly odd as this is away from the main area of rain today and river levels there are falling but hey ho!

Good luck all - going back to model thread now, stay safe - hope you get what you want, or as the general consensus seems, avoid what you don't want.

Still persistent heavy rain here, looks like it will continue for a good few hours yet, might be an interesting commute in the morning

Think I speak for everyone when I say we’ve had more than enough rain now.

Sheffield had over it's November average rainfall in 24 hours. At least today is dry, even with some peak flows still to come

My total 24 hour rainfall 0300-0300 was 77.6 mm by far the most I have recorded
