Cycling's Road World Championship Mens race has had to be rerouted; so will miss out the Buttertubs & Grinton Moor climbs......looks pretty grim out there - and too bad for a helicopter to fly.

Yeah another 30mm here in the last 24 hours, so just shy of 100mm for the month so far!

Yes what a shame I was in Swaledale yesterday setting up a weather station and it was beautiful.

Everyone had flags and decoration out from Buttertubs through to Reeth, another blow after the serious flooding the area suffered back in summer.

Passed a 100mm here most of the heavy rain is to the north of us although it's supposed to return south eastward later. Although at the moment the radar shows the area of rain expanding rather than moving south east.

Certainly developed very heavy around Sheffield and Rotherham now. Really coming down.

Very dark too!

Weee bouncing it down here perhaps there should be a red warning. Locally no warning although nationally we may or may not be in yellow warning area.

Can't find anywhere that fell below 0c last night but some came close.

Coldest being Langcliffe (just north of Settle) with 0.3c this morning.

The only air frost this Autumn remains to be Keld in the Yorkshire Dales way back on 8th of September with -0.7c.

More rain on the way overnight into tomorrow, 15-30mm possible with rain lingering across eastern areas. Yellow warning in place. Going to be another soggy Sunday, the type you spend in the pub. :drinks:

GFS rainfall expectations by 8pm Sunday:

Certainly been very wet here today, started raining in the night, and has only just stopped. Some very heavy bursts around breakfast time.

Field at the back of our garden is now waterlogged.

A poor forecast though for most of us today, very wrong. Spine of the country Eastward was under a weather warning for 30mm today but radar showed it had cleared to the coast by mid morning. Sun was burning my face in the car earlier!

Over the moors it seemed to have gone by about 11am but the afternoon has been more rain on and off, hardly moving - which wasn't supposed to happen.
Still *only* 15mm but it's getting waterlogged with events like this every couple of days.
Next week looks more mobile and breezy so ought to dry up a bit.

Well very little in the way rain the last four days. This should change tomorrow with some heavy rain if it makes it across the Pennines that is.

Leaden grey sky and persistent moderate to heavy rain here since late morning. If this continues as predicted then yellow warning is justified

Passed the 100mm today so we 're passed the autumn average already.

Looking at the radar it seems a weak attempt at a squall line keeps trying to form to the north us probably north Sheffield, Rotherham. It stretches all the way back to south west wales. Could be a radar quirk but it been there a while waxing and waning which suggests it isn't. Would be interesting to compare rainfall from some one in north Sheffield or Rotherham.
