Keep watching those showers south of the Humber out to sea. Energy is transferring northwards if you go back an hour

The problem is the wind is switching nearer to a straight Northerly?  The longer land track will mean any showers will die out earlier unless some kind of trough or disturbance develops overnight?

Just my opinion but I'm not confident we will see much after this impending 'blob'

I'm watching this last shower too. Should get me but then it's looking dry.

Have to see if anything else crops up overnight

Still going strong as its reached Doncaster.

Not sure the weather type is that accurate on the radar, was showing pink earlier when we had rain/sleet and now showing green when it is now snowing!?*

Like I mentioned earlier, they aren't really, best looking out the window

Surpised this last large shower has maintained it’s intensity as it moved in land.  Unfortunately it looks like passing to the East of Barnsley, so will miss out again... ☹️

Yeah I hope so. Things maybe keep coming in waves overnight...a definite gap after this though.

Just want as many of us to wake up to a covering in the morning as possible. That's how desperate this winter has become haha

Think you are right in terms of direction of flow for the showers developed over the moors near Whitby, but they might struggle to maintain intensity as far as us in Barnsley.  I’m off the North York Moors tomorrow for a week, so hopefully some of the snow will still be around tomorrow and Sunday before it turns less cold on Monday.

I think I might just miss out from heavy stuff as it slips slightly to South East of here.

Edit.. That made it Snow  Started here now.

So lucky it even made it this far!

Good screen grab. We now have the same intensity here in Kiveton Park. This could be this cold spell's last hurrah ?

So a lot is resting on this..

Yeah was lovely to watch! Nice fat flakes then powder snow towards the end. Not bad for 1-2cm in 20 minutes.

Yep,that's a whole two months

i enjoyed the ice day yesterday and fealt quiet surreal, but not much snow to go with it bar the odd snow grains/flurries

that shower totally missed here but keeping my eye on those to the NE,the north sea seems to be coming into life now,can they make it?

Yes it was a good day yesterday, felt like mid winter at least. Very cold and the trees and ground looked great in the thick frost and fog. Best winter's day this season!

Shame that shower missed you but yes there's a chance of more coming in overnight, keep watching ❄️
