[The PIT]

A rare ice day. Frost melted off the car despite it being -2.4C which shows the air is quiet polluted.

Sunday now uncertain hopefully we may get snow showers tomorrow but doubtful if we will do.

Well today was a great day really after the snow disappointment. It's been very cold, only maxed out at -1.7 on my station so a good ice day. The trees looked brilliant with thick frost on them.

Looking at the recent Met Office forecast on YouTube, earliest looks to be 10pm this evening, with consistent showers and a more organised band around 4-5am tomorrow.

I will be keeping an eye on the showers going into the North East at present

They seem to be moving slightly SE to NW

If the low down South starts pivoting the angle of the shower should change with the flow to E to W then NE to SW coming in from the North Sea

I think the above is correct in my view, please if wrong let me know help me out!!??

Dry as bone here but cold outside temp at -2.5C. Noticed the front is fizzling out in the west and seems to be a bit further south than expected. Looks like all the energy is going east which is the opposite of what the Beeb said.

I think there had been a little bit of snow in Cross Gates earlier. Thick frost, fog and even a little bit of snow, absolutely loved it today.

I don’t think the showers currently shown over the North East will be moving towards Yorkshire.  If you run the sequence on HIRLAM the showers initially build from the SE moving NW overnight tonight then eventually the direction changes so the showers start coming from the East and then the North East.  Link here if you don’t have it.

That is pretty much exactly what I have said above to a degree

I meant to say any showers in the North Sea (not just the ones in the NE currently)

I was looking more at the overall direction they would come into Yorkshire

Also noticed a few popping up south of Lincolnshire just need them to fill in between the 2 area's

First signs now showing off the coast East of Skegness and moving NW.  Expected to move across Lincolnshire over next few hours and into Yorkshire around midnight’ish.

Snowing lightly in west Leeds for the past 40 mins and light dusting on the ground. Strange as there is absolutely nothing showing on the radar. I can only assume it is precipitating out of the fog, and therefore too low to be getting picked up by the radar.

I think it’s called snizzle, remember Matt Hugo saying it a few years back.

Fog gone temp up to -1.8C, Perhaps we are going to have the highest temp for the day overnight.
