-5 at home, coldest morning for a couple of years, bearing mind we are 1 mile from the coast. -8 at Seamer station, which is a bit a frost hollow, (This was car sensor, and I have checked its and its +-1 so fairly accurate)

Recorded a minimum of -7.0 at 5am

Colder than the minimum of -6.7 from last year's Beast from the East

yeah, last years BftE didn't really deliver for us here, it wasn't that cold and not much snow either.

Consider that in 2010 we hit -20c here, nothing since has come close. Not that I'd want a repeat of that cold, we had all sorts of problems with the vehicles from rubber anti-vibe dampers sheering off propshafts to cracked rads. It also cost us a fortune to heat the house.

Morning all  from a chilly E. Yorks, 7 miles inland from the coast.

-3.8 ° C as I type and white with the frost.

Imo the uppers are wayyy too marginal.

That streamer for South Yorkshire is decent!

Magic -5c here with freezing fog. Not bad for a NW cold spell.

Been on the Irish thread and the developing showers(ahead of the band) moving nnw into Belfast are of snow.

I wonder if any streamers that set up tonight over our region are of snow?.

...and at the same time in 2010, our heating packed in for several weeks and we were lucky if we reached 8degrees max downstairs indoors brrrrrrrr

Same thing happened here in December 2010, our boiler broke so we had to use portable electric ones. The pipes also froze.
