Green phlegm is a green light to go to the doctor

As bad as ever again now but after a couple of doctors appointments and a chest X-ray, at least I know i’ve got a dose of Pneumonia.

it doesn’t make me feel any better but at least I don’t have to worry that I feel like crap from just a cold.

The issue is that people say 'oh it's just a cold' as if that makes it OK for you to keep on going as you usually would. A bad cold requires bed rest or you run the risk of complications like pneumonia from mixing with other people and acquiring other pathogenic issues as a result of a compromised immune system.

If you feel like crap, it's a sign to stay in bed until it passes.

I got a virus a month or so back, bad chest, temperature and nose that wouldn't stop streaming. I rang in work because my health comes first. I'd say that to any HR manager.

Problem is that i’m at my worse laid in bed or laid down on the couch.

hopefully the antibiotics will start to kick in and i’ll start to feel a bit better tomorrow though.

one thing is for sure, it’s a flu jab for me next winter if this is what it ends up as.

Yes I hope you feel better soon mate.

Had a couple of doses of flu in the past mate and it really is nasty. I genuinely thought the end was nigh back in Feb 2007 when I got it for the first time. Couldn't even sit up in bed I was that weak.

Hope you get better soon Ian. I last had flu in 2009 so I've been lucky since then but I didn't leave the house for 2 weeks, totally out of character for me as I can't stand being indoors all day. Felt absolutely terrible. It just zapped all energy out of me.

Yeah i’m getting a bit fed up of having snow in March, especially when winters usually fail to deliver.

all I want now is light evenings, some warmth in the sun and generally usable conditions.

Yes - sounds daft but Snow for me is always welcome in  December for the obvious festivities - which hardly ever delivers especially at Fylde altitudes.

Obviously we have gone looking for Mountain Gullies and Ridges in "Alpinesque"condition out of these months sometimes as far as April (Easter) but we were younger then.......!

Classic southerly tracking low for next Tuesday on the GFS 12. Still looks the wrong side of marginal for me though but still time. Sunday night looks interesting if the flow is slack enough.

If one thing I have learnt its these systems always correct south and I don't see any reason why this system wont do the same thing.

Sweet spot anywhere south of the Midlands

At this time of year these systems can correct south as much as they wan’t for me.

whilst the late March 2013 event was pretty spectacular around these parts it was also exceptional and i’d Imagine for every repeat of that, we’d have a dozen with nothing but marginal sleety crap at best.

sorry but i’m laid up 😷  at the moment watching cold rain peeing down outside and the thoughts of some spring warmth is one of the few things cheering me up.

Cold rain day.... 4c and rain... yuck 🤢

2 stock pots are on with a whole chickens 🐔 hearty chicken & vegetable soup tonight...

hopefully keep the bugs going around at bay...

hoping for a bit of snow in the next week as what we’ve had over the winter has been disappointing thus far.... other than that looking forward to spring and vegetable growing....

Can’t see a frost anywhere tonight except maybe East Lancashire/Peak District. Don’t know why Met are so bullish about it unless they see a wind direction change that I can’t.

Need some frost to kill off the bugs but that’s getting less likely now

Minimum 4.9°C, nowhere near a frost as I expected. Maybe places in the far east of the region have got one?
