Not had any showers yet here. Just sunny intervals and a moderate westerly breeze. Temp 9°C. Not bad for early March really. Yesterday was pleasant as well, mild and sunny morning, dry and cloudy afternoon, high of around 12°C. Moderate South Westerly breeze. No rain until after dark. This weekend (and the last few days) it has actually turned out better than forecast (my weather app was forecasting rain yesterday for today). Quite unusual that.

Still a tiny slither of snow on top of Pendle, left over from last week, very stubborn to melt for some reason.

We just had 2-3 showers all day, producing some pretty nice viewing actually combined with that sunshine.

Temp dropped 4/5C during the showers too.

Ooh something wet falling from the skies... it's so wonderful and rarely seen this winter, that I feel I should extend my best welcoming wishes and host it for the next 18 hrs or so...

More rainy days here. I was looking forward to a week in
Italy at easter but that looks doubtful

Another brief cold westerly on Wednesday night which will bring snow to high ground. It's not any more potent than the last one though although flow is slightly slacker. Nothing below 200–150 m. In fact WRF showing a distinct lack of precipitation at the moment.

Yep, strong wind today, quite mild and the sun is just starting to come out, a couple hours late.

Doesn't feel all that mild though because of the wind.

Oh well, at least I will be able to get the rowing boat down to Asda to do my food shopping. Haven't been able to do that for a few days.

Lucky. No sun here today. Just thick cloud and outbreaks of rain all day.

Snowline looking a little lower now on WRF for tonight; estimate anywhere above 150 m and 15 miles inland.

Wind too westerly for my liking. Showers like to miss my area without any northerly element to it, shame, uppers look very cold. Especially given their direction and time of year.

Yes some notably cold uppers forecast as cold as anything all winter... this is the time of year when lapse rates are very high and the effects of evaporative cooling are most felt, hence though snow shower scenarios in April, indicative of the fact polar air is at its coldest.  Forecast some sleety snow early hours but not expecting a cover..though may be some if we see a more organised spell of moderate precipitation. Fells will be white again in the morning.

Its 9c here and it feels mild and we are talking snow?

Admittedly I haven't even looked at the models for at least a week.

Surface temps should drop by 6–8°C in the next 6 hours as the cold air comes in.

Certainly gotten windy here over the past 2 hours and it looks like there's a squall-line trying to form on the front which might make things a bit interesting before midnight.

Just hit here like a ton of bricks a few mins ago and it's been a while since we've had that kind of rain hit here along with gusting winds, as quickly as it arrived it's now making tracks off to the East.
