Been at work all night and had about 15Mins of Heavy rain nothing remotely Wintry.(not that I was expecting it)

All in all the forecast for rain or snow was pretty poor IMO

Wet concrete here at 200m mate.

Don't quite know what happened to euro 4 ...but this mornings update looks much more believable..

Snow acc now shows next to zip for our region, perhaps a chance further north of the region.

Aye. I'm mostly staying out of the model thread for the time being...people don't like to hear what I have to say

A bit of a covering here but given last nights charts I was expecting more.

never mild at least it doesn’t mess up today’s Christmas shopping plans.

I really feel for you dude and all the other people in this thread.

To be fair, I feel like you do try to provide a blizzard of realism in the Model Output Discussion thread.

Snowing in Morecambe

Yes and I missed it, I had seen your post 2 hours after you posted it and there was evidence of snowfall on cars and the bins so must of came down quite thick for it to settle somewhat. Sadly when I looked so, it turned back to rain.

I was not too interested in this event as the temps looked too high but kinda wish I was now!

Not surprised snow was limited last night. The wind was always expected to veer back on-shore again and Strengthen around midnight which it did. This raised the temps and DPs.

I think the problem last night was I noticed the bands of rain & snow moved in a NE direction which is never good for the southern part of the region because the Welsh mountains gobble it up. I guess the Euro4 doesn't factor this into it's output. Not only that it was too marginal once the wind started to get up which lifted the temp as Chris alluded to.

Something this afternoon is interesting me. The 06Z WRF would suggest a small, very small window for low-level snow around 3 pm when the wind backs to the south-east.. Also potential for lightning again. If this is correct then we need to see temps starting to fall rapidly in the next hour and other signs of evaporative cooling.

Temp plummeting now under heavy rain. Down from 4.9 to 3.0°C. Seems to be a bit sleety now.

Not been on here for ages but got a bit of a shock when I opened the curtains this morning! First snowfall of the season here. ☃?

Wasnt snowing when I went to bed so must've all come down in the early hours.

Normally we'd get the first dusting of snow before this. We had a colder than average November and yet I never had a flake of snow, not even on the hills, just cold rain all month. Alougth last year I don't think it snowed before January.

Its peeing it down now though and it's gone miserable and cloudy since 2 pm so will probably be gone by tommorow morning.

Hailstorm in Macclesfield just now. Bits of sleet and snow and all sorts. Very odd. Waiting for the flash of lightning!

Thought we may have had a bit of lightning too, however my app temp hasn't dropped all day, it's still at 4°, but then again I don't know how accurate it is.  It's easing off now, I'm off out xmas present delivering.
