Wind picking up here too with rain. Temp dropped by a degree in the last hour to 7°. It feels much colder, just dipped into the Ireland thread, some nice snow falling in Belfast.

That squall line last night was insane. Winds far worse than that of Storm Ciara that passed through.

Agreed, I was struck by the unusually squally winds here in South Cheshire from about 9pm to 10.30pm last night. After a nice day today, wind seems to be picking up again and a few spots of rain on the windows now at 4.15pm.

Nice convective day

Excellent time-lapse! You can see the towering cumulus clouds building! ?? Love days like this. Where I live it stayed dry until about 6 pm.

Why do showers refuse to electrify until they have gone inland! It keeps happening in the last 2 years, should be the other way round. Getting on my nerves.

We had a heavy shower followed by a flash and a rumble of thunder too.

Driving back from mums just over half hour ago, good mix of hail, sleet and rain.  Did not see any lightning.  Temp on the way about 7pm was 6°, dropped to 3° coming home. Light rain at the moment.

Well, some unexpected, un-forecast rain today. Still managed to get plenty done in the garden which was nice. Still no confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Halton, so we're all good for now. Unconfirmed cases of course, but hopefully they're just staying in the house.

First day of Spring, and bang on cue, high pressure is on the scene and set to stick around for a few days at least. An air frost morning, and the frost lingered in the shade until mid morning, a reminder we are still just about on the colder side of the year, when full strength sun still doesn't quite have enough power in it to quickly see it dissapate quickly. Things in this respect change very quickly over the next 2-3 weeks, and by Easter we will firmly be on the 'warmer' side, and frost will only be visible first thing, 1 hour from dawn tops.

A lovely sunny day, fells looking great, mother nature about to burst into spring mode, especially given the early start, expecting quite a bit of early leaf development this year - again by easter, in some years it can take until early May.

Yes I remember 2013 being notably late for leaf development - things went into May until most started to open. Not surprising given how cold the first quarter of that year was. But yes I agree that this year given it was quite a mild Winter we'll soon see those leaves coming on the trees.

Ironically the DP is lower now than it ever was during last winter. 10.4°C with the humidity of 37% giving a DP of -3.7 currently.

Good Grief just what we dont want at the moment a cold spell with the possibility of snow but that what the models are showing for next weekend as if the NHS is not under enough pressure as it is without all the issues a cold spell will bring as the saying goes it never rains it pours.

Been a lovely few days of weather. ☀️ Call me mad but I’ve just been out to the shops in just my t-shirt and shorts.  Temp is only around 11 or 12° but feels warmer than that in the sun and light winds. Was just so great to experience warm sunshine again after six months of wind and rain.

Not that many people outside though. Probably self-isolating or just too scared to go out. Shame because the weather has turned lovely.  Supposed to be 16° tomorrow before it turns colder later on in the week.

Let’s hope it gets downgraded. Don’t really want snow now but of course as it’s not winter anymore the models will probably verify.

Outdoor sensor showing 14°C, 50% humidity. Doubt it is as warm as that though.

Tomorrow expected to feel very pleasant indeed with light winds and a warmer airmass above, temps could easily hit 15 degrees for many, which under the late March sun will feel very good. Wednesday will see similiar temps but perhaps a bit more cloud. Looks like we will hold onto the spring warmth on Thursday but more cloud generally. A marked downturn come Friday temp wise, back to winter - well it will probably feel as cold as at any stage this past winter.
