So do i !! While i am at 200 m the higher parts of town are 300-350m and that makes a big difference tbh..

This locale is always best geared up for an easterly , because of the altitude and proximity to the Pennines for some reason beyond my limited grasp of meteorology we always seem to do very well.

The BFTE being a prime example, snow wasn't that heavy in west yorks but we got drifts of 8 foot in places - and then places to my west only got a dusting.

Hence my obsession with easterlies or north easterlies..

Unsuprising, west of the region is quite flat and closer to the sea.

Its not brilliant here but its very slim pickings for you guys.

I have always said west of the North west is as bad as it gets for some one who enjoys snow.

Covering of snow here in Droylsden East Manchester. 98 metres asl. Nothing very heavy but a nice covering on the grass, cars, roofs etc

Lovely sunny start in south Cheshire no evidence of any overnight PPN

Nothing here, not sure what happened overnight - perhaps the low pressure was a bit too far north and prevented the shower build up from the NW with interacting with it.. Cumbria always seems a world to itself..

No snow on the ground. But when I woke up it was snowing but its wet just a couple of minutes. Roll on Summer.

These Winters are not what they used to.

Well after today's snow cover it's not been as bad as the awful 2013-14 Winter. But it's still been rubbish Winter overall. Hopefully next Winter will give us a beast or two. A 2018 repeat would suit me just fine.

Had a snow shower overnight and another at 9am in Whitefield. Dusting now all but gone.

That's 2 days with snow falling out of the sky and about 4 hours of lying snow in total. Pretty much the same as last year, except that saw some lying snow that lasted about 3 days.

wrf 06Z is a downgrade for tomorrow morning, still  snow just  but the precip arrives too late and surface temperature is already rising. Freezing level doesn't get low enough. Need a correction back later.

We’ve just had a heavy hail and grauple shower. It then turned to snow on the back edge! First proper flakes I’ve seen in over a year.

It's quite nice to see the sun a bit today and it does feel stronger now when it is out.

However the constant wind is driving me insane. Looks like we are about to have a 4th weekend in a row of horrible weather as well.
