METO text now mentioning snow showers to lower  levels through tomorrow...

Euro4 out in a couple of hours

Meh...can’t bring myself to care or feel any sense of enthusiasm about that. Looking out of the window at all the water left behind by the relentless rain kills it stone dead.

No snow cover here this morning. I slept through my alarm clock but the missus was already up she informed me that there was no covering. Never is with the fabled SE flow. Hopefully better luck tomorrow.

Looks like a shower stream is setting up from the Irish sea.

Rapid thaw through morning here, saturated air put quick pay to the decent 2 inch snow cover we had. The snowline lifted to about 400 metres.

Tomorrow evening could deliver a few snowy surprises to relatively low levels I feel, one difference with this upcoming polar maritime flow will be less of a strong wind - so showers will be longer lasting, and better chance of trough formation as well, enabling showers to band together.

We’re right under one of the streamers, just a shame it’s nothing but sleet and cold rain.

Don't worry everyone, as soon as the cold uppers come in the Irish sea will switch off. Still yet to see falling snow imby but surface flooding is a concern - I'm ready for high pressure personally.

You’re ready..I’m ready..everybody should be now after the last few poxy months. Anyone who isn’t..well...there’s a nice rubber room waiting for you and a jacket which fits nicely round the back!

For the majority of us tonight looking too marginal for any meaningful snow - temperatures looking a tad too high. Although could be a window of opportunity of a few hours in the morning. It's a different matter tomorrow night though. Temp & dews looking a bit better throughout. Just a matter of getting the precipitation in.

Be ready it’s not going to make any difference to the weather we get.

If that’s true then May can’t come quickly enough. Getting off this soggy horrid island for good and crossing the pond.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
