Well whatever happens overnight, it just adds to the already huge rainfall totals for this month, We are very close if we already haven't broken the wettest February on record.

And that is exactly what is doing.

We broke the record after the 22nd of Feb, so it is question now of how high the record goes.

Gusty heavy rain at the moment, I think Macc is a little too far south, however I may see some snow on the hills. Not going to be a pleasant walk to work in a minute. Pleased for those who get to see a decent snow fall.

Moderate snow about an inch cover so far. It's very wet stuff. Suspect will last another hour then turn increasingly sleety.

Yes 1/2 inch lowland (Fylde) snow at 4:30am then sleety mix to a good old predictable Lancashire downpour.

No sleet/slush here this morning (checked at 3am)...now it's been what is has through the whole of February... heavy, persistent, unwelcome cold rain.  River levels once again being put under pressure.

Winter 19-20 redeeming itself at present - a decent snowfall at last - barely had a cover up to now, level 2 inches - many a winter has delivered less.. snow now sleety rain, but could be a slow thaw. Quite a wintry week ahead, perhaps some more snow later tomorrow and evening under any trough formation.

We usually do  very well in these synoptics, warm front moving in from the SW, light SE drift ahead. Pity the low couldn't have stalled, or trajected further south - would have been a very good snowfall with limited thaw.

Major delays around the M56 at the minute with standing traffic from Manchester Airport all the way back to Stockport, also around Catterick the A1M is closed due to stranded cars in the snow. No snow here in the Peak District that i'm aware of, just localized issues with standing water and flooding to contend with for this morning's rush hour.

Heavy rain here, as expected. Got my snow fix this weekend up in the Lakes though. Photos below were taken yesterday.

Euro4 looking really snowy on tues for our region...

Hope its correct because the graphics on BBC breakfast were pants to say the least although the main focus was the 20cm of snow on the top of Ben Nevis sigh...

I'm not expecting much if anything but just thought i would mention euro4.

Meto/bbc text not inspiring either with no mention of accumulations even for high ground.

In euro 4 we trust

You never get 20cm up there, it just blows away!

You can see how saturated the ground is from the river response:

Yesterday's peak is from only 15mm overnight at Old Trafford, most of the catchment is urban Manchester and Stockport. Normally it would take double that to raise the Mersey that high.

Good one of Lingmell toward Gable.

Couldn’t care less about snow anymore as far as this season goes.

Yet more rain overnight, everywhere flooded. Only concern now is when this crudfest finally ends and we can finally start to dry out.
