Sorry I couldn’t answer that one but it was insane here. Think we ended up with 42cm here...and that’s at 80m above sea level...heaviest snow I saw since the winter of 1981/82.

I remember you  or some other people posting about it. Remember you had feet high snowdrifts for ages afterwards. Wish I had that here but can't complain as did have lots of snow events that month, Just not much accumulation.

Euro4's take on tomorrow. Not quite a KABOOM chart like it was showing last night but still a fairly good covering showing across a good chunk of our region. Probably a good idea to set the alarm earlier than usual as it looks like it will be washed away pretty quickly as milder air surges in after (if it does snow)

Snow desert is pretty accurate; the BFTE never really amounted to much here, an inch or two, and mostly all gone by mid afternoon. 

If we get any snow, it'll be too little too late.....

Even here we didn't get a lot from that event on 22nd-23rd March 2013. It was disappointing. The strong SE wind caused a big snow shadow. But we made up for it in 2018. For here we do best from an easterly and north-easterly direct from Siberia......but winds from the south-east during a frontal event? Forget it. It's just not going to happen. I'm getting a bit sceptical about tomorrow morning due to the wind coming from that direction.

These are the type of synoptics that tend to deliver heavy snow over the Lake District, a warm front moving into cold uppers. Might just be a temporary shortlived cover on lower ground here, but could be something more substantive if the front slows down and engages with the cold air for longer. Evaporative cooling will certainly be in evidence.

Purely for fun at this stage but GFS12z showing Heavy snow for the southern parts of the region Saturday Morning after this awful winter season at least a bit of eye candy to look at.

Thursdays low has now shifted south and in GFS style will move even further south on further runs.

also noticed  there are two troughs that cross the region Tuesday evening which could show some interest if there is enough cold air in place

Well whatever happens overnight, it just adds to the already huge rainfall totals for this month, We are very close if we already haven't broken the wettest February on record.

Yes has been a notably wet February so far, not sure what the stats are looking like, it can be one of our driest months.. 

It could also end up a notably sunless February.. wonder what the sunshine levels are.

WRF 12Z looks a bit better to me. Shows rain to snow to ice pellets to rain for low ground in the south. That's what I'm reading anyway From the data.

Snow overnight and into tomorrow. Clear and bright tomorrow afternoon.

This Evening and Tonight:

Any daytime showers will begin to fade into the evening leaving brief clear spells. Heavy rain will push in through the early hours turning to hill snow, particularly across the Peak District. Low level snow could also develop in places. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Monday:

The early snow will turn to sleet and rain, eventually clearing into the afternoon. A cloudy but bright afternoon and sometimes breezy. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

A mixture of sunshine and showers, with the risk of hail and thunder at times. Wintry showers also possible, especially across the hills. Turning colder with patchy ice overnight.

 Looking at the Lampost light you can see the flakes.

Close,just a little colder and it would have been very interesting.

I wonder what places with a little elevation are seeing such as the Lakes,Pennine areas.
