Gone really wild here now. Temp was 10°C and Overcast at 4 pm, and feeling fairly mild, now 8°C and partly cloudy with 29 mph winds from the west according to my phone. Love a wild stormy night in Autumn/Winter.

Another drab dank overcast January day, drizzly rain throughout, low cloud.. tomorrow promises to be a very wet cloud infested one and mild, ending what has been a very poor January all round for anyone who likes cold, crisp, sunny or snowy weather. Apart from the few days between 17-21 Jan, it has just been a mild wet cloud fest.. Good riddance Jan 2020, Jan 2021 you must do better!

One saving grace is we have been spared any storms, not major flooding either., it could have easily been another Jan 2014.

Certainly a good chart with less marginality than earlier this week but typically it's 10 days out. No doubt it'll change to something milder closer to the time.

11 Days

Time to move from the barren wasteland known as the Fylde.

Be good if it happens, but I wouldn't even trust that chart if it was showing for this Wednesday never mind a week on Wed. Resigning myself now to 'mild' winters becoming the norm instead of the exception now with a warming planet.... we're screwed.

Hi, itsnowjoke, not making meatballs tonight then?

I am going to Llandudno next sunday 9th Feb, until Tuesday 11th Feb, any thoughts from anyone as to what kind of weather to expect?  Thanks.

Thanks for your reply, saw some charts on the mod thread two days ago all threatening snow after Tuesday, so I agree with you that I've probably picked the right time to go. Crib Goch a bit notorious and for the experienced, think I'll stick to the Orme.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
