Models seem to be firming up on a very brief snow event Saturday for parts of the region Looks like the snowline will be around 150m But in any heavier Precipitaion that may lower

Squall line just went through Kirkby, wild for a few minutes

Just experiencing the same here in Macc.  Wind howling around the house, rain hitting the windows making quite a noise, spooked me for a moment.

Squall line went through 20 minutes ago, bit of a letdown compared to other 'squalls' I have witnessed over the years.  A little blowy and a bit wet...but nothing to extreme.  Hopefully a colder burst of weather over the next few days, minus a blip on Thurs... with gusty showers that may or may not produce... wet sleet here.

So that means they'll be snow on the roof and slushy stuff on the front lawn.

Maybe for you at your elevation.

For me a wet roof and a flooded front lawn

Not sure where Google get their forecasts from (looks like weather.com?) but it's showing a good few hours of moderate to heavy snow around here on Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Class.

We spend decades on here pouring over chart after chart and it all comes down to Google weather!

Heres my iPhone for Bury now. Not my area but one we visit for the ELR. Well festive for the Santa Specials? D9CBF17E-39BE-4F6E-AB07-3B6C243CDFA7.thumb.png.2dd0c30c104793e3b4fcf18054186ac2.png

Aye rain doesn't get much colder than this without being sleet...awful day now.  I'm sure there might be a bit of wintryness up in the high hills.  Possibly more on Sat night but lower levels maybe just a slushy mix at best...roll on the next beasterly

Exactly what I said to my wife this morning.

Glossop brook is raging and weve had 28mm rain so far. Work that out on a ratio of 10 :1  on the snow conversion.

Roughly 28cm or 11" of snow.
