Looked south-east today and could see a bit of snow on the top of Kinder Scout.

Is this a good sign it’s certainly early

Back from my slumber for another winter rollercoaster

Looking like a colder than average winter coming up. Must say, I haven't enjoyed this autumn at all. Absolute soaker of a season with very little sun. The old SAD disorder coming out nice and early this year. But we're only 5 weeks away from the days lengthening again, and I can't wait.

I love winter, but only when it's cold and snowy. I even love the fog and those crisp, sunny days. But the previous ones have lacked seemingly all of those aspects of traditional winter weather. I have high hopes for this winter. The law of averages suggests that we will get a colder than average winter sooner or later. Let's hope it's this year

Nice to see some snow on the fells this morning, but a patchy affair, interesting to see the difference in distribution. North facing slopes had a skittering of snow down to about 450m all day, but only general cover very high up on all slopes 900m, but this is only what I could see from this location.

A lovely crisp autumn day overall, lots of sunshine which we all need at this time of year, and great timing for a Sunday. More days like this please this November, which can be an especially miserable month all round.

Someone tweeted a picture of the covering on Kinder Scout.

Heavy shower here with sleet/hail mixed in.  A blustery cold day out there now with wind picking up.

Details on Wednesday/ Thursday are interesting for a time.

Beeb graphics seem to show a period of snow for the NW Midlands and East Wales.

I absolutely love today’s weather. Monsoon like rain with powerful winds, and some heavy hail thrown into the mix. This is what autumn is. Sunshine and extreme showers. Love it!

Thoroughly foul day, cold, blustery and an icy near gale.  Just had hail rattling against the window.  Meanwhile I'm watching my energy monitor relentlessly clocking up the cost, £2.15 up to now: 4:10pm.

Another vile cold and very windy day.  Only the odd shower, currently dry and cloudy.  Looks like it could be a cold night with that Arctic blast.

BBC app showing a lot of mostly dry weather (after this morning's pesky showers scuttle off) until this time next week...not completely reliable of course due to reactive 'real-time' updates but we could be favoured to at least dry out a bit after a wet start to November....other parts of the UK not so lucky.
