Does anyone know why the water has all pooled on the East side of the Pennines?

Seems a lot more flood warnings than on our side.

Not sure. I'm not a global warming believer as such but I reckon we're getting more of these extreme weather events. Things like prolonged rain, intense bursts of heat. Ok we might not be getting anything close to December 2010 but I've noticed we're also getting unusually cold weather late on like March 2013, late Feb 18 & March 18. But snow is snow & I'll take it whenever it falls.

A brief chance to dry out today before tomorrow's soaking with Sleet in the forecast for some low ground I would imagine the snow line to be around 200m tomorrow.

BBC weather app (for what it’s worth) shows my part of the world getting a day of sleet with maximum temperatures of 3c.

Sleet/Snow at 200m upwards.

Glad to see rain forecasted further south tomorrow.  Last thing we need is yet more rain that we didn't want.

Made me smile yesterday.

Rainfall in Sheffield was near biblical.

Is there a region in Sheffield called Biblical?

Must be in the rain Shadow here overcast and cold but no precipitation.

Not that I am complaining  even though there are reports of snow in North Wales.

It was hovering around 1-2 degrees in crosby this morning at 9.30am-fitness in the park was ‘interesting’ to say the least -it’s definitely colder this year than the same time last year

Looking at the radar there's some snow on the high ground tonight. Snowline seems to be above 300m looking at the radar. Might be a covering above 400m. The summits of the passes should have a thin covering in the morning.

Rain has been relentless for the last 5 hours Met Office seem to think it will last through the night.Flloding may be an issue if it carries on as heavy as it is now
