It's not sand castle making weather.

No, I wasn't building sand castles, the wind was literally whipping up the sand from off the beach and blowing it into your face, mouth and eyes as I was walking along the promenade. Not nice at all.

Had to put my hood up at one point. Was like walking in the Sahara desert but without the heat lol.

Anyway, after some more rain this morning, it appears to be brightening up a little now. Still breezy though and cool at 14°C.

Found this for you all, can anyone find the Nov / Dec 2010 ones though?, looks like someones binned them accidentally, been through the archives by alphabet and chronologically.

Mr Data (his name in retro format) will be along soon to correct that its not even Autumn yet and talk about leaves falling off and hoar frost etc!

Text forecast for this evening and overnight-

This Evening and Tonight:

The region will stay dry for the late afternoon and evening with some late sunny spells. It will tend to cloud over as the sun goes down and a few showers will develop overnight. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

It has been raining since about 6.30pm....

I mean, even the GFS picked up on it

A miserable summers evening, heavy incessant rain, fully dark by 9pm, lots more heavy rain to come next 24 hours, totting up the totals for what will end up being a very wet August in the Lake District.

Forecast: a bit of early morning drizzle to give way to increasingly brighter skies as most of the rain will shift northwards.

Reality: Absolutely caning it down

Well I don’t know what happened to the rain yesterday. It was dry all day here and even saw the Sun a few times. Maximum temperature was 20.5°C.

Provisionally, it is now the wettest summer since 2012 for the region.

I'm not surprised, what needs to happen for this to become official?

Oh, what a beautiful morning, oh, what a beautiful day, I've got a wonderful feeling, I'm going to soak up some rays!  The sun lounger is calling. Highs of 24°C possibly 26°C, hope you all enjoy the day too.

I'm hoping it doesn't get TOO hot today and tomorrow, off to a music fest and the idea of sweltering for 12 hours under the heat of the day is making me consider taking the umbrella just to get under some shade. I'm fairly susceptible to the heat anyway so usually do my best to avoid overheating although i'm not complaining about the past few weeks of constant rain and floods we've had here.

Sorry, off topic, but which music fest?

I come up to the  Lake District a lot and have an uncanny knack of coinciding with poor weather but today was a joy warm sunny no rain or wind !!
