If only

It's alright...

^^ this on 28.01.2019 produced only light snizzle for my area and barely left a dusting.  The apps are not the best to lean on.

We had the heavy rain overnight but since has cleared to quite warm sunny spells... hopefully this will beef up a few thundery showers later.  I think the autumnal feel will be tomorrow with the wind.

Blue sky and sun here, barely a cloud to be seen. The cloud just suddenly vanished about an hour ago. Forecast was supposed to be rain for most of the day - we'll they clearly got that wrong! (watch me jinx it now lol).

Yeah, nothing like two weeks ago when it just rained constantly and the system seemed to sit over us without moving at all.

Fairly heavy rain overnight but again not crazy rain like a fortnight ago. Dry by the time I cycled to work and now quite pleasant sitting out in the sun.

Convective band of showers just lining up tot he south of the region, will be surprised if a few people don't get a rumble of thunder and a burst of heavy rain in the next hour or so.

Storms approaching with eerie gunshot thunder in the distance. Now of course it could be orographic and die before it gets here (as usual). We will see

And it would appear to have died (the Thunder). Storms are as rare as snow here literally.

Nice cell over Stoke looking like heading for Peak District, alas, I'm in Tewkesbury and the storm shield seems to be operating here.

In Blackpool at the moment. Rumbles of thunder from this to the East of me.

Had some great rumbles of thunder 10 mins ago. Daughter just got back from Cheadle Hulme and they had been without power for an hour. It's gone dark again here, eerily quiet, oppressive feeling, is there more to come.

A few rumbles and a few showers here this afternoon. Went to a local animal farm this afternoon. Was mostly cloudy and fresh and breezy but also quite warm at the same time. Max temp 21°C, currently 19°C but feels warmer. Feels quite humid, especially indoors.

Ive had quite a few thunderstorms/thundery showers this summer, so it's been a pretty good summer for thunder as far as I'm concerned. Better than what we usually get anyway, especially last summer. I don't even think I even heard a single rumble last summer, despite all that heat.

Just had a half decent storm roll through here about 30 minutes ago on North side of Blackpool. A few flashes of lightning and deep rumbles.

What another insanely wet day here. Thunderstorm went through towards 6ish, insanely heavy rain.

What an absolute enigma of a summer this is turning out to be. Thoroughly enjoying it!

Decent storm overhead before, torrential rain and a few cc lightning strikes lighting up the sky and some really loud thunder.

Autumn has arrived in Cumbria, gusty wind and horizontal  rain lashing the windows. 21mm of rain since midnight on top of the 50mm from yesterday. Turning into a very wet month. Standard august!

Got away with the showers a little this morning but now that the low has progressed further through the region and the winds switching with more a westerly element, it's setting up a conveyor belt of showers off the Irish sea.  More hit than miss now.  Thoroughly miserable day for anything outdoors.

August is fast becoming an awful month to bank on weather wise.
