I am in work tomorrow, need to be up at 6.30  , I hate missing sleep , makes me feel bad the next day . going to go to bed at 1100PM but will probably find it hard to sleep,  then thunder may wake me up if I do ,  but thats a big IF,  Certainly not staying up and missing sleep for a thunderstorm that is unlikely to happen ,  best outcome could be odd flickers of  distant lighting around 3.00am,   Not waiting up to find out !   , these events are always timed wrong , ah well

Theres a cell heading toward Wirral, Merseyside on radar.. it's not electrified (yet?), but if it does ill let you know as I've got a peach of an elevated view covering the entire southwest quarter, so I'll see that lightning from miles away if it initiates.

Think things will start to set off over the next hour or so as the plume heads further north. Showers are beginning to form further north now with one over Barmouth way.

The rainfall return over Wirral is false, the sky is mostly clear.

I think the  general track will be NE Wales into the Wirral then heading in a NE Direction

25C here at this hour. And I live surrounded by big fields in a semi rural part of Failsworth. Bet it won't drop below 21 or 22C. Unprecedented really. Can see how somewhere might record the highest minimum ever tonight, it wouldn't surprise me.

Just saw lightning on the horizon but it was very very far away, about 80 or more miles Id say

It's all elevated no rain just seeing flashes every 30 seconds or so. Probably from the system out to my west.

Yep still the odd flash here and there heading up the coast, tried to rain heavily here but didn't although the size of the raindrops were impressive.

The last storm died a death quite a way south. Im not sure there'll be too many more. No lightning since on the horizon.

Looks like everything will slide northeast of here now looking at the radar. Time to call it a night!

Well I've seen a few about 20 flashes, its IC lightning and quite elevated i think, not very loud, not an expert on thunderstorms though.

Just some phone video but gives an idea. This is happening every 3-5 seconds with massive thunderclaps.
