Very quiet on here and the model thread. Not looked at charts yet.

About one page of posts in mod thread since last night probably tells you all you need to know regarding cold and snow prospects without checking the charts. Worth a check just in case though.....

Might wake up to white hills tomorrow morning and Sunday... a few colder days mixed in between the wet mild mush... gfs/icon/euro 4/hirlam going for a dusting to 5-7cm on higher ground above 400/500m

This is a useful look back to see what the weather was doing and why aircraft were diverted in from other airports

Getting that inherent 'end of winter feeling now' - I think the three meagre snowfalls of the last 2 weeks will be all I will see for this area at least this winter.

Absolutely nothing in the near range in prospects either.

Not a great winter for me, but not snowless like 13/14, 14/15, 15/16, 16/17 } 4 consecutive years where I saw no snowfall albeit I was living in a  different location each time.

Worth keeping mind that the Netwx model has much stronger winds over northern England tonight, further north than Met Office warning. MIght in the end be somewhere in the middle but could be lively tonight in NW.

Wonder where the nearest data sensing station is.  I thought Crowdon was one and Woolley Bridge another.

Not odd at all. I don't care about Europe's Winter weather. 2010 was 9 years ago. It was a fantastic year in the UK both early and late in that year but it's now a long time ago in my opinion. A part from probably Feb 2012, early 2013 and last Feb/March mild has dominated. It has been utterly crap. As cold lover's we've been fed scraps.

Sorry but it was odd, because you was referring to snow that was 23yrs back... I mentioned something that was only 8yrs ago really!! But in reality we had more green winter's than white... in the 25/30yrs before 2007!! We've had more white since then... so yes I stand by odd remark :hi:

I’d say 50% of the last ten winters have been acceptable or great.

Then ten winters before 09 were pretty grim though.

Temp has fallen during the cold front from 5.5 to 2.4°C and the rain has become sleety on the back edge here.

No sleet here but the wind is really blowing. No doubt there will be a few trees down
