Not even being treated to a spell of snizzle!? You've been short-changed!

Another beautiful morning here. Crisp, cold and sunny to start. Shame things are going to warm up this week. Plenty of winter still to go though and hopefully some more decent chances of snow.

I'd expect it to be hot where you are given you are in Dalton-in-Furnace!

Ok, I'll get me coat....

Just landed in Manchester, sun shining through clouds and snow still on the ground.

If it didn't snow this week I would honestly judge this winter as the worst ever. 2013/14 was bad but at least it didn't give us false hope with Greenland high after Greenland high in FI and met office forecasts promising cold 3 weeks away. Also the actual weather has been tedious nothingness. No sun, no rain, no wind most of the time. At least 13/14 was stormy. Lesson learned for me - SSWs do not work in West QBO winters.

Absolutely peeing it down. The lying snow which had some legs is now melting away rapidly. YUK

Got down to -8.4C in the end this morning. Pretty decent end to the cold spell. Looks like Manc airport registered -6C. Now the rain is quickly washing the snow away

We see the end to this cool spell, the last mm hiding in the shadows is now gone due to rain. I feel this has been the most boring winter. It's also been quite mild with streamer weed only dying off in the rivers middle of January. Midgets in full force. The only benefit has been the fishing has been great.

Today is going as expected. Can’t really call this a cold spell without any Lying snow.
