Gritters out in force around Hadfield and Glossop. One can hope it's in case the snow comes

What surprise this morning! Expected perhaps a light shower that had made it over the Pennines. Woken up by a crack of thunder at half past five-ish.  Then woken up by my phone pinging with my chat group asking if we'll have a snow day. Another good inch of snow had fallen and covered everything again. Sadly no snow day but a late start instead... For the second time in a week!

Still some pretty beefy showers crossing Yorkshire from the North Sea but only time will tell if they have enough left in them to get over to our side.

not a bad effort earlier this morning though and even though the streamer moved away from here soon after light it did give another inch or so top up along with the usual early morning chaos on the local roads.

Managed an odd flurry this morning and was hopeful we might catch something more notable through the day - alas the showers haven't aligned well for Cumbria, despite being able to travel further distances to our south.

Sunday may deliver a snow event for some - one to keep an eye on, there will be alot of cold surface air, marginal for places below 200 metres, but not necessarily so - depending on intensity.

Two more very cold nights ahead - a decent cold spell overall.

Sometimes we get a surprise from the East although not holding out much hope shame I couldn’t go and play in it today due to this bloody cold which has turned into a chest infection

Another air frost begun, 11th of the winter so far.

Really cannot see how anyone in the region is going to get anything on Sunday.

May as well keep talking about hotdogs.

Just sauce for me, nothing else.
