Cold hunt - models and chat

Paul
Message added by Paul

Please ensure that the majority of your posts in this thread are model related - a theme of model discussion needs to run throughout.
Some off topic chat and reactions are ok, but please use other, more relevant threads for entirely off-topic chat (such as snow reports, met office forecasts and general chat/moans about the weather or this winter).

For more no banter and just model discussion please head to the new focused model thread - this is also a great place to post (or cross post) your longer model summaries or thoughts around the models.

He’s just commenting on the 06z which we know was a cold outlier so it’s a week signal for now

It doesn't look like UKMO is going to follow the 6z GFS pattern unfortunately.

In fact at day 6 it's pretty horrendous!

Trigger low gone way NE at 120 on the GFS, not the best it must be said highly doubt we’ll get an easterly on this run.

UKM And GFS very similar at day 6, GFS has more forcing on that low with a stronger bit of pressure going up towards Svalbard. Siberian high looks a bust.

I hope you're right, Claret, but I fear that I'm up for a double whammy: bugger all snow and a disaster at Wembley, tonight?:cray:

What do you think will score more highly ?  Failed Easterlies or failed Spurs trophy attempts ?

difficult call but I’m backing the Easterlies this year

I think potential all time record low minima and Maxima probably count as once in a generation!

Just as interesting is that parts of Minnesota could be looking at record lows Wednesday/Thursday and record highs at the weekend. Now that's a rollercoaster!
