Cold hunt - models and chat

Paul
Message added by Paul

Please ensure that the majority of your posts in this thread are model related - a theme of model discussion needs to run throughout.
Some off topic chat and reactions are ok, but please use other, more relevant threads for entirely off-topic chat (such as snow reports, met office forecasts and general chat/moans about the weather or this winter).

For more no banter and just model discussion please head to the new focused model thread - this is also a great place to post (or cross post) your longer model summaries or thoughts around the models.

But he did say at the end “ turning mild by the end of the week” surely if Tuesday isn’t settled the end of the week is up for grabs

Yep he said that as well and that was dependant on where the LP sat

Indeed and we have gain on such..

Could be an old classic..that i have personaly experienced...from time 2 time in my 43-yrs..

Obviously not on that scale...

But living just north of the corridor..and edging bucks...

We do rather well...

'On the whole'..

Edit an pls dont look at my prof back ground pic and with my 2 eldest daughters and say WOW 43...

ITS GOOD LIVING

Mate I’m 38 and my oldest daughter is 19

anyway back to the mods this certainly won’t be anywhere near the correct situation until it’s within 72 hours and even then it could all change. Yes it’s not been as good generally today but you usually get a bit of downgrading etc only for it to slowly upgrade again as it gets closer so chin up ladies and gents we could all be getting loads of the stuff next week!

18z showing west is best, NW, Wales, west country doing particularly well, look at all that snow just clipping the south coast, seen that so many times before, come on, further north please!

Drives me mad this further north, further south, further north business!

I was talking about the GFSP which hasn't started yet , which as we know can give a completely different scenario

Yep, here we go T168 pub run:

Uppers not great but probably sufficient, with a pool to draw on, and only a week away.

Few frames later no worries re uppers!

Apparently, the term 'boom' upsets some people in here.  I'll just use the term 'yes please'

Don’t mean to be a grump but to play devils advocate I can’t count the amount of times the 18z pulls out a good run and then we all wake up to disasterous morning charts, wondering if it’s a data issue? It’s too much to be a coincidence

The low is close to 1,000 further south now!:shok:

Snow south of the M4 alright, but at this rate it will miss us completely! Models all over the place.:olddoh:

Sorry I know this isn't the place to discuss BBC forecasts - but what was he on tonight - a brief bit of spring, but snow not done with us yet... its late January for goodness sake - very much depths of winter.. he should know we can't discount snow until April at least.. it was a very annoying poor forecast all round.

I hope so pal. Getting sick to death now of seeing heights trying to ridge in to southern Greenland only for the Monster PV to spew out another low.
