Pretty grim over on the model output thread....as it has been for a couple of months ... plenty of hype but nothing tangible to back it up..always 7 to 10 days away...don't get me wrong..I love the cold weather ..and love a decent cold chart..but only when it's in the reliable time frame ...not FI as most have been lately..a decent cold spell in Jan and/or Feb seems to be a thing of the past!..anyway..time to sack the chart viewing off for a few days for the sake of my sanity ..hopefully I'll return to good news!!..

i really don't understand what we have done wrong thats made it extremely difficult to get a good wintery outbreak... we have a really good ssw event yet somehow a poxy HP to the southwest of us just wants to hang around and spoil the fun so places like Turkey can get a pasting.

Won't come off I hope, luckily in FI, but christmas pudding style chart, more like an April E'ly, I remember when January was a cold month

Ahh! It wouldn't be winter without seeing posts about binning runs because they're not showing snowmageddon or similar

The GEFS temp and precip runs for the next few days show cold temps and vigorous precip band late thursday - early friday. Provided the precip comes at night - many in uk could wake up to snow on Friday morning. After that the milder air following the precip combined with daytime temps will see the snow turn to rain in most places. So I am predicting some snow for many in the UK thursday eve/night into friday morning.

Yep. All i see is a wintry mix (mess) - from end this week for a week - which really is bulk standard UK Winter fare, even in the mildest Winters. What happens from around 25th/26th? well that's 2 weeks away.

Saw 3 pairs of Fieldfares here yday - usually a sign of cold weather to come.

3 pairs, nice! We dont get many Fieldfares in Manchester - mostly Catboot fares and dodgy funfares

The weather in Manchester is usually grey. Today it was changeable - which means different shades of grey.

In fact  last year the snow was grey - before the great unwashed turned it yellow that is

Seriously the model thread is bloody annoying sometimes. Why can't none of you people PM each other with your willy waggling and just post yours thoughts with accompanying charts to show how you believe things are going to pan out?! I don't want to read why you think this person or that persons wrong. I also don't want to read "my favourite list of annoying sayings" or the little snidey comments about other posters. Please guys....... Grow up!
