People in the MOD thread need to calm down a little. The ECM op has thrown some people’s moods off wildly. Better to wait and see if that run is repeated in the morning and tomorrow afternoon before getting suicidal.

Probably because we live on a relatively small island with a very large ocean west of us where most weather comes from. Where we live is not called Disturbed Temperate for nothing.

As there is so much upset concerning the models perhaps it should be be banned like politics.

Threads should just be about puppies and kittens rolling in the sunshine.

Just a thought.

Mo del s ,believe them beyond 5 times when there's cold weather forecast at your peril and as for each 6 hour run beyond 5 days is like putting trust in a politician

Cold weather is here and it might get colder and snowyer but some of the recent chart runs have been unbelievable so let's calm down and enjoy the fact it's not mild and stay positive for better blocking in a few days time

I just watched the latest Met Office Video by Aiden McGiven in which he gave a really wintry outlook with severe cold and snow into the South & East from Monday/Tuesday, it was quite extreme!

But, I can't find it now on their website?

I recon they have taken it down after looking at the ECM!

Did anyone else see it?

New to netweather but always been a weather nerd (as my better half calls me) All i am seeking is the weather extremes and understanding them especially⛄. Can't beat it, sad really but they are so exciting! I have read many posts stating be careful what u wish for. . . . even sky weather and met office reporting severe cold ingredients, good chance of that high to sw buckling . Answers on a stamp pls lol47-19

Still think trends are your friends, but already told the dog and family. ☺all on my favourite trend the squirrels just started storing/birds and berries, sledge still ready and out from last year! Might need an upgrade (the sledge that is)

The Famous Darren Betts.

No beast from the East is his exact words

Not much snow in his forecast

I may ask myself which garden path do i follow Darren Betts or ECM or GFS.

I thought it was UK, or is that not allowed now we are semi-Brexitised.☺

The model main thread was very funny earlier when it went into meltdown following one bad ECM , not just for the anguished many , but also the anguished others who came along and said "don't take one run as gospel"...in 97 different ways.

No, it wasn't the weekend update, it was an update about next week and how cold it could be!

I will say the words my wife loves to hear. “I was wrong”

It would be really helpful when posting like this actually gave an analysis. Those posting such things might know what it is all about but in this thread a candid review is welcome.
